All students perform multidisciplinary cognitive neuroscience research in one of the research groups of the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour or one of its affiliated research institutes or at other (inter)national universities. Internships are conducted under the supervision and responsibility of a senior staff member of the Donders Institute and are subject to the approval of the Programme Director and Coordinator. The research project is concluded with the publication of an article in the scientific Journal of the MSc Cognitive Neuroscience Masters Programme. The Journal forms the proceedings of the Cognitive Neuroscience Master, i.e. a selection of peer-reviewed Master theses written by students who have completed the MSc CNS programme successfully. There are two main routes to follow in order to get an internship. First, you can initiate an internship by talking to a lecturer/researcher yourself. Often, researchers are very interested in hearing your ideas about possible research questions. Second, in November/December a "Stagemarkt", or internship market, will be organized by the CNS management. During the market, researchers from the Donders Institute and its affiliated institutes have the possibility to present internships. In four separate sessions (one per track), several projects will be briefly outlined by staff members after which you can select and contact a researcher in whose lab or research group you wish to do your internship. Both routes mentioned above have to lead to a project proposal (an empty form can be downloaded from the CNS community site in Blackboard) that has to be filled out, signed by all parties involved and submitted to the programme coordinator (dr. A. Koning) for approval; usually the third or fourth week of June.
